PlayNSkillz The Process album in stores Today

Juan "Play" Salinas and Oscar "Skillz" Salinas make up the Dallas rap duo, Play-N-Skillz. They’ve made a name for themselves underground and as producers. With a brand new CD on the horizon, these two are determined to put Dallas on the map. Lil’ Flip, Three 6 Mafia are just a few artists appearing on their newly released album, The Process.

Shelia: How did you go from being a DJ to rapping?
PlayNSkillz: Play started off as a DJ. Actually, we both were DJs. It was like a little brother following his big brother[thing]. We started producing…then went from producing to rapping.

Shelia: We haven’t heard anything by Adina Howard lately. I heard she was on this album?
PlayNSkillz: Adina Howard came into Dallas and did the hook for us on the record Freaks.

Shelia: What makes THE PROCESS different than the other rap albums out there?
PlayNSkillz: [The] versatility. [There’s] something on the album for everybody…with artists like Frankie J, Three 6 Mafia, etc. The songs don’t sound the same. [We] didn’t have to run to [other] hot producers. It was all in house. The album was produced by us.
